More on Nancy Mace...
Raised in South Carolina's Lowcountry, Congresswoman Nancy Mace embodies resilience and hard work. A former high school dropout, Mace's first job was at the Waffle House. She would eventually graduate magna cum laude from The Citadel as its first female graduate, and obtain a master's degree from The University of Georgia. She is an entrepreneur in real estate and tech. In 2018, Mace transitioned to public service in the state legislature, and then in 2021, she was sworn into Congress. She serves on key House committees including Oversight, Armed Services, and Veterans Affairs. She is a dedicated single mom to two teenagers.
More on Micheal B. Moore...
A citizen candidate with deep roots in the Lowcountry, Michael B. Moore spent nearly
four decades in the private sector; holding leadership roles at Fortune 500 companies,
entrepreneurial ventures, and nonprofit organizations.
Michael was the founding president of the International African American Museum,
which opened its doors in Charleston last June, and has served on several nonprofit
boards. Recognized as one of Charleston Business Magazine's "50 Most Influential," the
City of Charleston honored him with "Michael Boulware Moore Day" in 2019.
Coming from a long line of pioneering public servants here in the Lowcountry, Michael
is now seeking the same House seat held by his great-great-grandfather, Civil War hero
and Reconstruction Era Congressman Robert Smalls. In 1862, Smalls commandeered a
Confederate ship in Charleston harbor, carrying his family and 15 other enslaved people
to freedom. Smalls went on to become one of the first African Americans to serve in
Congress, and wrote the legislation that created the first free, compulsory, state-wide
public school system in America.
Michael's other forbears include South Carolina lawyer and legislator Samuel Jones
Bampfield, and Judge Harold Boulware — who litigated the Briggs v. Elliott school
segregation case and served on the legal team that won Brown v. Board of Education.
Michael graduated from Syracuse University, earning an MBA from Duke University,
and received an honorary Doctorate in Public History from Dickinson College. He is a
devoted husband to his wife, Karla; the loving father of four sons: David, Lucas, Israel
and Robert; and a new grandfather to Sasha.
