In this spirit, Bishop Gadsden’s new Embark program empowers members to live at home while retaining full access to our supportive care community. Upon qualifying with our Health Assessment Team, members are assured priority access to Bishop Gadsden’s healthcare settings, including Assisted Living, Memory Support, Short-term Rehab, and Skilled Nursing, if needed, while they continue their lives at home.

Equipped with a BG Health Care Contract, Embark members and families can be confident that Bishop Gadsden is on their side, if ever needed. With a suite of continuing services, the program puts members and their loved ones at ease, eliminating the stress of securing short- or long-term care if the need arises.

Program benefits:

  • Access to exceptional health care in Bishop Gadsden’s Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, or Memory Care communities, be it temporarily after an injury or surgery or in the event that a permanent change is needed.

  • Access to primary and specialty medical care at Putman Clinic. Bishop Gadsden is affiliated with MUSC Behavioral Health, Roper St. Francis, and other health care systems that specialize in geriatric and post-acute care.

  • Access to physical, occupational, and speech therapy with Bishop Gadsden’s on-campus Rehabilitation Therapy team should your doctor prescribe it.

  • Access to the new Gadsden Glen community for rest, recovery, and rehabilitation after a surgery or injury.

  • One visit per year from a Bishop Gadsden care provider to check in, reevaluate your personal care needs, and keep you informed of resources and benefits that will best compliment your lifestyle.

Embark members have access to Bishop Gadsden’s Care Navigator, a stress-free way to manage your care. This new service can help schedule your appointments as needed, answer insurance questions, assist with pre- and post-op details, or arrange for a companion to accompany you to appointments to take notes or FaceTime family members who cannot attend. Embark members receive one hour of Care Navigation each month and may schedule additional time as needed.
