Forest Bathing:  Join a naturalist for some ecotherapy on May 16th at 10:00 am meeting at Polly’s Pub. Warning: Potential side effects may include Improved Mood, Improved Circulation, Interest in Something New, and Spontaneous Euphoria. This program will not include heavy-duty exercise or actual bathing. It is simply in nature, connecting with it through our senses of sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch. In Japan, they practice something called forest bathing, or shinrin-yoku. Shinrin in Japanese means “forest,” and yoku means “bath.” So shinrin-yoku means bathing in the forest atmosphere or taking in the forest through our senses. Shinrin-yoku is like a bridge. Opening our senses bridges the gap between us and the natural world.

The classes will be taught by naturalists from Caw-Caw Interpretive Center
