Creating Extraordinary Health Care

Bishop Gadsden is creating a new standard for exceptional health, rehab and memory care. With an estimated completion date of Spring 2022, Lowcountry architecture will complement the stunning oaks that are featured on the property, creating a beautiful connection to the current Bishop Gadsden Community.

Common and Amenity Spaces

A light-filled atrium will welcome all residents and guests, with amenities including:

  • A bistro offering freshly brewed coffee and tea, as well as bottled items, and locally crafted salads and sandwiches.
  • A gift shop featuring specialty items, as well as cards and flowers.
  • Various outdoor spaces, including gardens and screened porches.
  • A serene spa, tailored to the needs of the health care residents, providing hair, nail and massage services.
  • A private chapel and meditation room, providing an opportunity for residents, staff, and families to reflect.
  • A well-planned employee cafe and lounge, featuring showers and a mothers' nursing room, for team members of Bishop Gadsden to enjoy.

Gracious Residences

In the existing Read Cloister skilled care community, most private rooms/bathrooms total 261 sq. ft. In the new building, rooms will be 409 sq. ft. In Arcadia Close Memory Care, existing rooms are 261 sq. ft., compared to 353 sq. ft. planned for rooms in the new building.

  • Residences have been designed around the floor-to-ceiling windows that will allow for the maximum interior light.
  • There will be a distinct lounge area in the skilled nursing rooms separate from the bedroom, allowing for opportunities for family and friends to spend time together.
  • The bathroom will be viewable from the bed and will provide enough space for those in wheelchairs to access the features.
  • The interior of the bathroom will allow the resident to have a separate shower and toileting area.
  • Integrated heating and cooling systems with individual thermostats.

Rehab Center/Clinic/Medical Offices

Offering the space to now welcome outside individuals, residents seeking short or long-term rehabilitative services will enjoy private rooms featuring all the amenities of the resident rooms:

  • Rehab rooms will offer a refreshment station.
  • Dining will be available either in-room or in an intimate dining room.
  • An innovative state-of-the-art gym will feature equipment and simulation areas to elevate the rehab experience.
  • A clinic and medical offices will provide a cohesive plan of care for all residents.
