The Not For Profit Difference Supporting Our Mission

Throughout its 169-year history, Bishop Gadsden has evolved from the Home for Widows and Orphans, to The Episcopal Church Home for Women, to the Episcopal Church Home, to finally Bishop Gadsden, in honor of the Rt. Rev. Christopher Gadsden (Episcopal Bishop of South Carolina from 1840-1852.) While the name may have changed throughout the years, the one constant has been its ministry.

There are many ways to contribute to Bishop Gadsden, such as gifts in honor or memory of a loved one, general donations, and planned giving. Donations of cash, check and credit card are welcome, as well as gifts of securities, appreciated assets, and life insurance. Bishop Gadsden is an independent 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation in the State of South Carolina. All gifts are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

Our Charitable Mission

Bishop Gadsden is committed to its charitable mission and ministry, and through the generosity of a donor this video was created to tell the story of our charitable mission and specifically the importance of the Bishop Gadsden Charitable Fund.

Immediate Benefits for you and Bishop Gadsden

Understanding that you want your gift to make a difference at Bishop Gadsden, but that you may also need to meet your family's financial needs, we offer a planned giving program. The Century Society, allows you to give to Bishop Gadsden, while improving your financial and tax situation.

Bequests in wills, real estate gifts, charitable remainder trusts, and charitable gift annuities are just a few options we can discuss as we work with you and your attorney/financial advisors to develop a solid giving plan that will benefit you, as well as Bishop Gadsden.

For more information on planned giving opportunities, contact our director of Charitable Giving and Communications, Kimberly Farfone Borts, at 843.406.6334 or [email protected].
