Resident Communication 2: Tropical Storm Erika
Bishop Gadsden Updates Plan on Tropical Storm Erika, As of August 28, 2015
As of Friday afternoon, August 28, preliminary plans have been suspended for what is currently now, Tropical Storm Erika.
Bishop Gadsden participated in a second conference call today with the State of South Carolina Emergency Management Department (EMD). As a licensed care facility, Bishop Gadsden is obligated to follow EMD orders for evacuations and sheltering in place in case of an emergency.
Per that call, emergency preparations are now on-hold. Bishop Gadsden and State EMD Officials will continue to monitor the situation throughout the weekend and be watchful for any significant changes in the track or strength of the storm.
This initial preparation was a very good exercise for our community, as well as all state licensed facilities, and we are hopeful it stays just that, an exercise.
Bishop Gadsden will continue to be in contact with local emergency officials and will update you as needed. We thank you for your cooperation and wish you a safe and enjoyable weekend.
