Written by . Posted in Uncategorized

For some people, Christmas shopping begins before Halloween, while others wait until the week before Christmas. Here at Bishop Gadsden, residents can think about Christmas presents all year long. Bishop Gadsden residents have two unique choices when it comes to shopping in the community. For one, residents have  Eliza’s Attic Thrift Boutique. Secondly, residents have the Village Shop at Bishop Gadsden. The Village Shop is a gift and clothing  featuring new merchandise that caters to residents, their children, and even grand/great-grandchildren.

Eliza’s Attic gets its inventory through donations within the Bishop Gadsden community, but also from the greater Charleston community. The Attic, as it is called around Bishop Gadsden, is full of unique treasures that include furniture, home décor, kitchenware, and clothing for men and women.

The Village Shop is carefully curated by one of Bishop Gadsden’s talented residents who takes the wants, likes, and needs of everyone at Bishop Gadsden into consideration when filling the shelves, and is entirely resident operated. The inventory consists of everything from boutique clothing and jewelry to fun toiletry and bath items, children’s toys, travel accessories, and home décor,to name a few things.

Since there is so much to think about when it comes to holiday gift-giving, here are a few ideas to get your Christmas shopping fire going.

For the home:

Christmas time is prime time for house parties, so what does one bring as a gift? Consider presenting the host with a cute Christmas platter to be able to use for their next Christmas dish, party, or dinner this holiday season.

Frequently, Christmas might be when new homeowners choose to hold a Christmas/house-warming party all in one. This present could be a little bigger than a simple host gift. This beautiful teapot, found in Eliza’s Attic, makes for a beautiful statement piece in the kitchen, and might be what pulls the new homeowners’ house together.

For mom:

When thinking about shopping for mom, sometimes something simple does the trick. Think about a simple scarf, cape, or shawl for her to wear this winter. One can aim for flashy colors or neutrals, depending on preferences.

Secondly, jewelry is another lovely option. One can use jewelry to match a scarf or sweater purchased for mom, or one can opt for a statement piece to make a difference in her jewelry box.

For dad:

When it comes to dad, Christmas time can be used to refresh his closet at bit. During this time a year, no one can go wrong with a good sweater. Adding a classic sweater to dad’s wardrobe is a staple piece that can be worn casually or in the workplace.

If dad’s closet needs an extra bump, a nice blazer makes a great addition. Sometimes, a nice blazer is not something he will wear every day, but it is an important piece to keep in one’s closet. Surprise dad this holiday season with something new and fresh!
