Nearly $2.2 Million Raised Since April 2014
(Charleston, SC, October 17, 2014) – On March 24, 2014, Bishop Gadsden announced amazing news to its residents and staff on an opportunity that would profoundly affect the future quality of life for the Bishop Gadsden Community.
Bishop Gadsden residents, Jim and Patty Fei, sought to make a significant contribution to Bishop Gadsden, while also honoring Bill Trawick, who has served as President/CEO for 29 years and shaped Bishop Gadsden into the nationally recognized retirement community that it is today. “We would not want to be anywhere on earth but Bishop Gadsden and, therefore, we want to honor Bill Trawick for all he has done to make Bishop Gadsden the exceptional Community we are all so proud to call home,” stated Patty Fei. In April of 2014, the C. William Trawick Endowment was created and the Fei’s agreed to donate up to a million dollars in matching funds.
While two years was given as a suggested timeline, the Bishop Gadsden Community of residents, members of the board of trustees, employees, family members, future residents, and friends donated $1,196,179 in cash and pledges in six months. Adding the Fei’s matching gift, the C. William Trawick Endowment for Bishop Gadsden, now stands at $2,196,179.
“Nothing that could have been done could mean more to me than this…I am totally overwhelmed. The initial announcement of the endowment was a cherished honor, and now exceeding the initial goal is further evidence of the culture of generosiity of this wonderful community. It is truly incredible,” stated Bill Trawick.
The Trawick Endowment is critical to the future of Bishop Gadsden, allowing for future generations of residents, families, friends, and employees, to benefit from one of the Southeast’s leading retirement communities.
