Bishop Gadsden Retirement Community has had another successful year, thanks to all of our dedicated team members. Each year, Bishop Gadsden has the opportunity to recognize 12 outstanding employees who live out the BG mission each and every day. BG team members, residents, and residents’ families nominate team members, and each month, one is named Employee of the Month.
Employee of the Year Ceremony
On December 4, 2019, residents, staff, and families gathered in the Chapel to celebrate these 12 outstanding team members, and name one Bishop Gadsden’s Employee of the Year. The ceremony began with a lovely blessing from Rev. Tom Wilson, and our superb resident pianist Talia Delahey led us in song to usher in the Christmas season.
With a feeling of cheer and gratitude, Hettie Woods, the BG May Employee of the Month, was proudly named the 2019 Bishop Gadsden Employee of the Year. Hettie joined Bishop Gadsden two years ago as a certified nursing assistant in Read Cloister. The words “kind” and “caring” were among many of the words used to describe Hettie’s dedication to the residents of Read Cloister. Hettie gives great care to all residents of Read Cloister, and never gives a thought whether or not the resident is assigned to her. Hettie goes above and beyond each day in her work, and is never without a smile on her face.
One of Hettie’s nominations said, “She is always so patient and loving while caring for our residents. She is also patient with their families. She works diligently and is always pleasant when you request something from her. If my loved one were in a nursing community, I would want them to have a caregiver like Hettie.” Hettie represents the BG mission and never fails to affirm positive living for all who come into her care. Thank you, Hettie, and all of our team members, for dedicating another wonderful year to the residents and the Bishop Gadsden community, all together.
