The program will include Edward Elgar’s beautiful Violin Sonata, George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, Rhapsody No 1 for violin and piano by Béla Bartók, Romanian Folk Dances for piano by Bartók , and Three Visions by William Grant Still. The virtuosic works Aucassin et Nicolette and Tambourin Chinois by Fritz Kreisler will be the final delights. Andrew Armstrong is a sought-after soloist and chamber musician hailed for his “dazzling clarity, confidence, and passionate expression.” He has appeared throughout the U.S. and internationally, including at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, London’s Wigmore Hall, and the Conservatoire de Musique de Genève, among others. He also serves as artistic director of several music series including New Canaan Chamber Music, which he founded in 2020. Abigél Králik is quickly gaining attention as a “shooting star in the truest sense of the word” (Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk Kultur).
