A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Stephen Sondheim’s joyous, musical romp through Rome is coming to the Queen Street Playhouse, performed by the Footlight Players. The musical tells the story of a slave named Pseudolus and his attempts to win his freedom by helping his young master woo the courtesan next door.

Broadway’s greatest farce is light, fast-paced, witty, irreverent and one of the funniest musicals ever written. The players takes comedy back to its roots, combining situations from time-tested, 2000-year-old comedies of Roman playwright, Plautus, with the infectious energy of classic vaudeville.
