On April 15, a Tuesday in Holy Week in the year 1850, a service of thanksgiving was held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church on Anson Street in Charleston to celebrate the opening of the Episcopal Church Home for Widows and Orphans which we now know as Bishop Gadsden Episcopal Retirement Community.

Join us this year on April 15, a Tuesday in Holy Week, at 3:00pm for a service of thanksgiving at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church commemorating this historic event.

Chamber Music Charleston will provide the music for the service with String Quartet and Harpsicord.

Music starts at 2:45pm, service begins at 3:00pm

Bishop Gadsden will provide transportation for those who wish to take the bus to St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church on Anson Street in Charleston.

The bus will leave the Commons at 2:10pm , please RSVP to reserve your spot on the bus!
