C. William "Bill" Trawick has led Bishop Gadsden through planning and phased development since 1985. He worked previously at Broadmead, a life care community in Cockeysville, Maryland, and in federal government. Bill has a bachelor's degree in English from East Carolina University, a master's degree in literature from The American University, and a master's degree in administration/health care concentration and a master's certification in gerontology from the University of Maryland.

As an advocate for the aging and for long-term care communities, Bill has served in a variety of leadership roles in state and local government groups and non-profit organizations, including the South Carolina Association of Non-profit Homes for the Aging (SCANPHA). He is a licensed nursing home administrator and residential care administrator.

In 1995, Sarah E. H. Tipton began her career at Bishop Gadsden as the admissions coordinator. After serving as the director of health and wellness services, she became the administrator of Bishop Gadsden's health care facilities in 2005.

Sarah grew up in Huntington, West Virginia, and graduated from Vanderbilt University with a bachelor's degree in human and organizational development. She also received a master's degree in health administration from the Medical University of South Carolina. Sarah is a licensed nursing home administrator and community residential care facility administrator. She lives on James Island with her husband and two children and is active in her church and the Charleston community.

After working in public accounting, private industry, and state government for several years, Susan G. Legare eventually found her "home" in the not-for-profit world, where she believes mission and ministry are paramount. She has been at Bishop Gadsden for over a decade.

Originally from San Antonio, Susan received her bachelor's degree from the University of Hawaii. As a life-long student, she has taken accounting and MBA courses at the College of Charleston and The Citadel, respectively.

The Reverend Frank D. Russ, Jr.

Chaplain, received his Masters of Divinity from The Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest, NC and his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Religion from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. With Postgraduate Studies in Marriage and Family Therapy, a Postgraduate Diploma in Anglican Studies and a Certification in Clinical Pastoral Education, Father Frank has been Rector at The Church of St. Matthew and St. Timothy in Manhattan and St. Francis Episcopal in Goldsboro, NC, and was Canon to the Ordinary in the Diocese of East Carolina. With a concentration in hospital chaplaincy and pastoral care, Father Frank is spiritual counselor and leader to the Bishop Gadsden community.

Kay R. Jenkins

Director of Arcadia Close, began her career with Bishop Gadsden in1992, leaving the area for a few short years and returning in 1998. She is a North Carolina native with a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Kay is currently enrolled in the Masters of Social Work program at the University of South Carolina. Kay began working with geriatrics in 1992 as the Activity Director in the skilled nursing area of Bishop Gadsden. After a move to Massachusetts, she worked as Program Director of Friendship Place, a day program specifically for clients with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, and Down’s syndrome adults with Alzheimer’s disease.

Jennifer Hartig

Director of Community Life Services, began her career in aging services in 1999. A native of Asheville, NC, Hartig received her bachelor’s degree from Meredith College and earned her Master’s in Health Promotion from Auburn University. In October of 2006, Hartig accepted the Wellness Coordinator position at Bishop Gadsden—a community she'd had her eye on for many years. In December of 2008, Hartig transitioned into the role of Director of Community Life Services, a position that oversees all activities, social services, wellness programs, and healthcare admissions within the Bishop Gadsden community.

Kimberly M. Farfone

Director of Development & Public Relations, has more than ten years of fundraising and public relations experience with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and the National Business Travel Association. A graduate of George Mason University, Kimberly earned her Bachelor of Science in Government & Politics, has received a Certificate in Management from The Wharton School of Business and a Certificate in Fundraising Management from Indiana University’s School of Philanthropy. A creative professional at heart, Kimberly also enjoys managing the print and marketing materials for Bishop Gadsden, and has had experience in branding while working as a consultant for Enterprise Technologies and Jefferson Government Relations in Washington, DC.

Jim A. Epper

Director of Dining Services, a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in Hotel/Restaurant Tourism Management, as well as The College of Culinary Arts at Johns & Wales University with an Associates in Culinary Arts. Jim has begun to change the way "retirement communities" look at dining. Assembling a skilled and energetic team, gone are the days of mass production and frozen everything. Now, the team puts much time into its menu preparations - including using seasonal produce and seafood, preparing food in small batches, and cooking to order.

Daniel Larrabee

Director of Environmental Services, has been managing physical plant operations for more than ten years. Most recently, Daniel was the Director of Physical Plant for a continuing care community and prior to that Daniel served as Maintenance Director for New Hope Treatment Centers from 1996-2001. A licensed General Contractor, Property Manager and Waste/Wastewater Operator, Daniel received his Bachelor's in Business Management from the University of South Carolina Salcahatchie. Daniel's background and "can do" attitude are a wonderful addition to the community.

Laura A. Wilson

Director of Marketing, came to Bishop Gadsden in 2005 as the Activities Coordinator for our Apartment & Cottage Community, however, due to her previous experience in marketing and as a Director of Marketing with other retirement communities, in December of 2007, she was named Director of Marketing. Laura has more than 20 years experience working in the senior living arena and received her Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation from Clemson University.

Sheila K. Howland, RN, BSN

Director of Myers Hall, an established healthcare leader for more than 25 years, Sheila received her Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. With a focus on aging services, Sheila has held positions in hospitals, skilled nursing communities and has been an instructor for future nurses as well. Prior to coming to Bishop Gadsden in 2005, Sheila was the Alzheimer’s Program Director for Eagle Pond Rehabilitation and Living Center in Massachusetts and then managed the careplan process for their longterm and hospice care patients.

Linda McMahon, RN, CRRN

Director of Read Cloister, has nearly 40 years of experience in the field of Nursing. Upon moving to Charleston in 2003, Linda has served as Clinical Nurse Manager for Roper/St. Francis Health Care and most recently was with HealthSouth as their Chief Nursing Officer. A graduate of St. John's University and Gloucester County College, Linda received her CRRN in 1993 and has an extensive background in infection control and emergency preparedness.

Laura McGrady

Executive Assistant, brings nearly 20 years of experience in Administrative and Business Development. A graduate of the College of Charleston with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, Laura worked for ten years in Software Development, before moving into administrative roles with Prudential Real Estate and Countrywide Financial. Laura’s desire to build personal relationships within her job is evident in the care and attention she shows residents and staff.

R. Levern Livingston, MD

Medical Director, a native of Mississippi and graduate of Mississippi State University, Dr. Livingston received her Medical Degree from the University of Mississippi and did her internship in Internal Medicine with the Medical University of South Carolina. With more than 15 years in private practice, Dr. Livingston is a wonderful addition to the Bishop Gadsden Healthcare staff.
